At a joint media conference, Erdogan said that with his counterpart Putin they have reached a history agreement” ensuring political unity, Syria's territorial integrity and the fight against terrorism.
He said Kurdish militants should withdraw within 150 hours from the area where Turkey is currently conducting its military operations.
“Russia and Turkey will form a separate mechanism to monitor the implementation of the agreement and its co-ordination”, Erdogan said.
While Turkish diplomacy chief Mevluüt Cavuşoğlu, who also held a joint conference with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, said that under this agreement, Russian military police will take care of the removal of all elements of YPG and their weapons 30km from the area on the border with Turkey, north of Syria”.
While Russian diplomacy chief Sergey Lavrov said Turkey and Russia will hold joint patrols 10km east and west of the area where Turkey is conducting military operation “Peace Spring”.
