For years hundreds of doctors and nurses release Kosovo and seek a better life in the European Union states, mainly in Germany.
The reasons for leaving this staff, mainly to European Union countries, where Germany leads as a destination, are related to the wages and best working conditions.
The Kosovo Medical Oda during 2018/19 has issued 201 confirmations that enable them to find a job in EU states. While, from January 1st 2019 to October, the Oda of Kosovo Nurses has issued 27 confirmations to nurses for work abroad.
The chairman of the Kosovo Medical Oda, Dr. Pleatura Sejdiu, told the news.net that this year, 91 doctors have sought certificates on the ethical and professional past.
According to him, it is the same trend over two years and, as he says, is slightly lower than in states that have emerged from former Yugoslavia and Albania, including Slovenia and Croatia as EU member states.
Their “, 110 doctors have requested Certificates on the ethical and professional past during 2018, while 91 doctors have sought certificates on the ethical and professional past during 2019. So it's the same trend over two years and it's slightly lower than in countries that have emerged from former Yugoslavia and Albania, including Slovenia and Croatia as EU member states. In all these countries, their data shows that the average is the removal of a doctor per day”, Sejdiu said.
However, says Kosovo Health Union Federation Chairman Blerim Syla.
According to him, during this year about 170 medical specialists have applied to the Oda of Kosovo Doctors for confirmations that enable them to find a job in EU states.
Eyes in an answer to news.net has said that there are currently no statistics on doctors leaving, but, he says, demand has increased markedly since last year.
We don't have the latest data right now, but there are requirements that are being made at the Kosovo Medical Oda, which are looking for a professional Ethiopian confirmation, which is also a sort of confirmation to get out. But we haven't started our new research yet and now we have no clue. The data we had we launched and at the moment we didn't. There are once about 160 to 170 requests made this year that were made in Oden of Doctors”, Syla said.
He says the lack of perspective in the country and the lack of employment has prompted many doctors to leave the country. As it adds, fear of failing to implement the wage law and many other factors has made new doctors skeptical.
But what it's about is that most young doctors, seeing that their unemployment is even on the rise now, yet most of them now claim to leave. There is also one fear now whether the implementation of the wage law and many other factors that have made these new doctors skeptical. But for the number I can't talk about, but I know that the other talks from abroad that are coming to Kosovo are too big. The demand source is on the rise, so it stopped a little when the salary law was passed, but now the demands have begun again”, Syla said.
While from the Oda of Kosovo nurses in a written response to news.net have said the nurses' requests for work abroad have apparently increased this year.
“Based on data we have from January 1st, 2019 to the date October 23, 2019, The Oda of Infermies, Moms and Other Health Professionals has issued a total of 27 (20 and seven) work claims abroad”, said OIC's response.
They say the claims are primarily required for the Ethical Code, where it proves that nurses during their Kosovo service have had bad ethical behaviour or breaking the Ethical Code.
“As seen by the statistics we were passed on, an increase is identified in the work - care requirements abroad” is said to be further in OIC's response.
We remember that during 2018, a total of 154 medical professionals have left Kosovo, and it seems that the demand for growth has increased even more.
Whether Germany is the country that is mostly looking for health workers from abroad, where Kosovo is part of.
With the new Law for Salaries, medical professionals receive 1195 euros, while nurses from 537 to 525 euros.
