The military and police used tear gas against protesters, and police clocks have been deployed in large cities.
The state has declared a state of emergency in the capital, Santiago, and other major cities in the country's north and south, writes the BBC, translates Periscopi.
The riots have increased alarmingly and expressed civic rage at the cost of living and inequality. During the present day, many banks, schools, and shops remained closed, and at least seven people have died of chaos.
Firefighters have claimed to find five dead bodies inside a cargo factory that was burned by protesters in a capital neighbourhood. Earlier reports said that three more had died from fire at a supermarket in Santiago on Saturday.
Interior Minister Andres Chadwick said at least seven people had died in incidents related to the protests, but without providing further details.
