Austria's Foreign Minister, Alexander Schallenberg, has declared from Tirana that Kosovo is a reality, despite some European Union countries continuing not to recognise it.
Kosovo is a reality, most countries have recognised it, but there are some EU states that have not. The EU has been able to follow a consistent policy towards Pristina and Belgrade and will continue to do so. We should wait for the formation of government in Kosovo, before taking a” stance, Austrian diplomacy chief Gent Cakaj has said during a conference with Albanian Minister in charge.
For his part, Minister Cakaj has also indicated that Kosovo is reality and that co-operation with Albania is not an option.
My “does not belong to me to comment on what Vuciq has said, because for his domestic policies we cannot change the relations we have with Kosovo. Kosovo has given the region an example of how elections are organised, with what high standard the change of power occurs.
Kosovo has proved to have a very mature electorate. We are looking forward to starting co-operation with the new Kosovo government. Kosovo is objective reality, its independence is irreversible, and the co-operation of the two countries is not alternative”, Cakaj has said. /BalkanWeb)
