This date was chosen by the U NESTO in 2005 with the goal of raising awareness of the importance of preserving audiovisual documents, KosovoPress follows.
Audiovisual documents; such as movies, radio and television programmes, are common heritage and include early 20th and 21.
They help to protect people's cultural identity; but the countless treasures of documentaries have disappeared since the invention of image technology and voice that helps people around the world to demonstrate better their experiences, creativity and knowledge.
All the world's audiovisual heritage is endangered on the official website of the United Nations on this day's note.
