On October 10th 1999, the Democratic Party of Kosovo was formed (PDK). This party since its establishment has had President Hashim Thaci, who is now president of Kosovo.
Since the Constitution does not allow simultaneously holding the post of president and party chairman, Thaci resigned from his party functions.
After that, The PDK has held the election seat where Kadri Veselini has elected as chairman.
Executive organ The PDK is Headship, which is elected by the Steering Council.
