More than a century has passed since the fall of Isa Boletin, but time and years have failed to dim his memory, nor the historical weight of his activity, nor the order of a life spent in battle for national freedom.
So said Kosovo Republic of Kosovo Speaker Kadri Veseli at the Memorial Academy, which was held in Mitrovica today on the 103rd anniversary of the nation's hero's murder, Isa Boletini.
In his speech to those present, Chief Prime Minister Wessel said how many times January comes to remember the declines and deaths of the great people of our nation: Skenderbe and Ismail Kemal, but also the late warriors of our national movement, who fell in January: The Gervalla Brothers, Kadri Zeka, Rexhep Mala, Nuh Berisha, Zahir Pajaziti, Hakif Zejrullahu and Edmond Hoxha.
“Today we have become together to remember and honour a great personality of Kosovo, which also fell in January, the hero of Mitrovica, the hero of Kosovo, the hero of the entire Albanian nation, Isa Boletin. Today, Isa Boletin's vital message is clear and just - more than ever - no good life for the individual regardless of the nation's condition. We can be good only when the nation and the state are doing well. This is the true love for our homeland”, Wessel stressed.
The head of the Parliament said the current generation has for mission that Kosovo forever be free, independent and sovereign state, members in the family of sovereign states, in the UN, NATO and the EU.
We as a generation know where we came from, what we inherit and where we want to go. We know the tasks history has assigned us and we don't intend, for a moment, to give up. And there is no more room than Mitrovica to make this pledge. There is no, because Mitrovica is the city of the nation. Mitrovica is the will of Isa Boletin. Today and forever, there will be a Mitrovica and a Kosovo”, Veselin said.
He added that Kosovo does not fear the challenges facing it, nor the dialogue and confrontation with Serbia.
We enter dialogue to empower Kosovo, the state and our nation. With our great partners and allies at the top of the United States. And be sure we'll make it. We're going to win”, Chief Prime Minister Wessel stressed.
