University Rectors Gather, Expected to Decide Will Enter Strike

Days ago, reactors through a letter to Minister of Education Shyqih Bytyqi, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and the Parliamentary Commission for Education have demanded that the State Council of Quality be dismissed by January 28th, as well as cancel the board's recent decisions on attracting research programmes. If their demand is not realised, they have warned strikes and protests.

The Rector of the University “Haxhi Zeka”, in Pec simultaneously vice-president of the reactor conference, Fadil Milaku has told “Kha Ditore” that in a few hours he will be informed of the reactor's decision without providing more details.

The reactor conference will be held at 4: 00 p.m. and the final decision will be made there. The conference will be held at the University of Pristina, and shortly after its completion we will come up with a communique for the media”, Milaku stressed.

Public university rectors are considering that the State Council of Quality has incidentally attracted accreditment of public universities' research programmes, which have had a long period of credit.

K The SC on January 15th and 16th has refused approval for 107 study programmes (28) in Public Institutions, and 79 programmes in private higher education institutions.

Likewise, K The US has made a decision to withdraw accreditation for 74 research programmes (40 programmes in the High Education Public Institutions and 35 Senior Private Institutions.
