Former UCMPB fighters from the Karadaku Zone during the day have left Gjilan to protest before the Kosovo Government object, with the request to receive veteran status.
Abdurrahman Nazifi, former chief operative in the area of Capri, requested the veteran's legal protection. He and several former fighters said they have had a meeting with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's adviser, Gazmend Syla, where they have submitted their request.
We requested from the prime minister's adviser to extend an invitation to our commander, Shefqet Musliu, who has been commander-in-chief. UCMPB's and all command staff, and the political council, those members who are alive today. He promised us soon to try to make the meeting and explain how the status of these warriors will become. From this war in eastern Kosovo are more than 20 martyrs”, he said.
Nazifi displayed expectations that the government would reflect on their demands, saying there are 140 former fighters who have documents with which they are equipped as members of UCMPB in 2000.
Feriz Deliu, former commander Kabashi, said they want to be equal like all other veterans. He has made it known that several times they applied for veteran status, but they are told to address the issue to their representatives. Among other things, former UCMP fighters are expressed concern over allegations they are saying they could be false fighters. They even said they are willing to resign from veteran status. /Kosovo pres/
