Turkey's state news agency reported Wednesday that police there have arrested 12 suspected militants of the Islamic State group, including two women wanted by France.
According to Anadolu agency, the suspects were arrested during police raids in the province of Bursa this week.
The group of detainees includes citizens of France of origin from Syria and Algeria, who are deployed in Bursa after allegedly performing “act” on behalf of the Islamic State in Syria, Anadolu reported and broadcast Radipo Free Europe.
According to the same source, five of the suspects will be deported.
Turkish police have arrested dozens of suspected Islamic State followers in the last days of December.
The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack on a nightclub in Istanbul on January 1, 2017.
In this attack 39 people remain killed, most of them foreign tourists. /Periscopi
