Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has made a warning on his profile in Facebook, just minutes after his post mocking Haradinaj. According to Thaci, “in the coming days and weeks, the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo will take action and decisions in state interest and strengthen partnership with our international allies”.
The president did not elaborate on what decisions it is about, but what is known is that head of state and executive leader Ramush Haradinaj have long been involved in disagreements over certain issues. Haradinaj has openly and strongly rejected Thaci's idea of border correction as an agreement on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia. On the other hand, the 100 per cent tax imposed by the Government of Kosovo, which has come strong signals from the EU and the US that they oppose it, has been rejected recently by President Thaci.
All state institutions are in service of defence, advance and achievement of our strategic state goals. Dialogue and the eventual peaceful agreement only accelerate the realisation of our goals for EU, NATO and UN”, Thaci has said, says Koha.net. “These goals are attainable, as long as we are united, position, opposition and civil society, we speak strongly unanimously and we have the support of our international allies, however, US support”, it has added further.
This post comes an hour after that with the melting of snow, which was commented as a message and simultaneously as a sting to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who has recently used it as a metaphor to evade the response to the tax.
Here's Thaci's post:
