President Hashim Thaci will be denounced to the Constitutional Court shortly after he appoints new members to the Central Election Commission (KQZ). This is due to the determination of the head of state to deprive key opposition subjects of having representation in the CEC, which is guaranteed by the Constitution and the laws in force.
Last month Thaci has asked six parliamentary groups created by the three subjects who had participated in the election to nominated by one member. This is being rejected by the two main opposition parties -- the LDK and LVV. Therefore, unlike the president's request, they have sent two nominations for appointment, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
But the presidency has not provided signals that it will be nominated by two members for each party. The Department for Juridical Affairs and the International Presidency Relations has indirectly expressed this in an e-mail that has asked political subjects to forward some relevant documents to proposed members of the CEC along with the nominations.
