Trade and Industry Minister Endrit Shala has said the determined move on Serbian products is not taken away without the reasons for which this fee is set. But, after increasing pressure from the US and the EU on tax removal 100% political analysts assess that compromise must be reached on this issue, however, what Kosovo benefits from its removal should be known
Still two full months since the Government of Kosovo has imposed a 100 per cent tax on products coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina has markedly increased international pressure, separately from the United States (SHBA) and the European Union (BE) to remove this fee. Despite US request for immediate removal of trade and industry tax Minister (MTI) Andrew Shala has said of “Zrin” that the measures imposed on Serbian products are not taken without initially eliminating the reasons for which this fee is set.
Despite this, Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli has declared that Kosovo can refuse the US request to lift the tax. But connoisseurs of political issues estimate that if the tariff is abolished in question, Kosovo should seek to know exactly what it benefits from such an act. As a condition for their tax removal should be required to recognise Kosovo from Serbia, therefore the ban on obstacles Serbia has consistently made to Kosovo in foreign policy.
