The Red Cross has come to the aid of drivers along the highway to the southern state of Bravaria. A nine-year-old was hit by the fall of a tree Thursday. Northern Sweden was hit by a storm that made roads impassable.

Seven people died last week, and two others have been missing since Saturday.
“The amount of such snow occurs only once in 30 to 100 years”, said Alexander Radherr from Austria's Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodinamica.
