KEDS has created a quick solution to the power supply of Mitrovica and Trepca, following yesterday's burning. The solution concerns the rehabilitation of the Vallaqi line in the north of the country, the part of the city's supply and surrounding villages. This has also been achieved thanks to the assistance and support of the country's institutions, the Kosovo Police for the provided security and COSTT.
The KEDS workers' teams have managed to extend the escort to the 35kV line, which comes from Valac's substation to the Mitrovica 2 substation, where the key is being made to supply a large part of Mitrovica and surrounding villages. Posters are also installed, as the line was inactive from the postwar. This has been accomplished thanks to the company's major engagement, which has been on the ground along with the relevant management since yesterday's independence took place in Trepca assets.
Parale with this, KEDS, along with KOSST in the record terms, have found additional supply options for higher-rated consumers, as the line coming from the north does not have enough capacity.
In this case KDS has engaged large numbers of workers, as well as contractors, to work on the extent of the 35 kV component from the COST substation in Vushtrri to Trepca, as well as the Trepca in the direction of Vushtrri, in order to complete the work as soon as possible. Work on both sides is at its finish, and if all goes according to plan the power supply for citizens is expected to be returned in the evening.
The situation was created after yesterday's burning around noon of Trepca's traphorus, linked to COSTT's transmission capacities. The damage was serious, and it is impossible to get back to work. Under these circumstances, KED, along with the other performers, has been put on the move immediately. Initially, a solution to the mine's supply has been found to be extracted from the dams by over 100 miners who were stuck, then to find the best and fastest solutions to consumer supply, and this was achieved thanks to the co-operation of COST and the country's institutions.
We express gratitude to the KOSST that we jointly found quick solutions, as well as Kosovo's institutions for support, the Kosovo police, who created security to carry out the works, as well as the citizens of Mitrovica in whom we found understanding and support.
