Opening 10 Professional Schools Warning

Education Minister Shyqi Bytyqi has made that ten model professional schools will be established during 2019, which will have a connection with business.

During 2018, the Ministry of Education in co-operation with international partners has conducted an analysis of professional schools in Kosovo to see how compatible they are with job market requirements. Minister Shyqi Bytyqi has told Radio Kosovo that they are in the final phase of building 15 new professional standards, which are the most wanted in the market and will be ready for 2019.

The education ministry has for the first time allocated a special budget of 1m euros, which will serve the practice of professional school students. Minister Bytyqi has said that with the support of international partners, Luxembourg, respectively, ten model schools for professional schools will be established at that level, which will be good practice for other schools as well.

We've made some arrangements with business representatives, who will be willing to support us for the practice of our students in professional schools. These schools will also have a connection to business and will be seen how instruction and practice will develop”, Bytyqi said.

Minister Bytyqi said the challenge will remain a commitment to working with parents, so that the orientation of their children to the career is right. He added that students should also be aware that not only those with poor results can be instructed in professional schools, but also those who have talent in certain areas so that they are closer to employment. With these 10 model schools, it is claimed that students at the age of 18 will be willing and capable of the labour market.
