Process against Uke Rugova returns to zero

About three years after the establishment of the indictment by the Special Prosecutor against Uke Rugova, son of former Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova and 19 others, today he is trying to start this trial from the start.

The Penal Procedure Code envisions that in case of a court change, the process turns to zero.

Some accused are missing the session.

Without the presence of all indictees, unless the procedure is singled out, according to the Code of Criminal Procedure, the session does not meet the legal conditions to be maintained.

“In the absence of conditions for holding the trial hearing, the session is put off”, panel chairman Naim Jasanica said.

She has said that the court has not scheduled a session since May because it is not a priority.

This is not a target case so it hasn't been a priority”, she said.

According to her, the appointment of a new date will take place only after consulting special lawyers and prosecutors and the opportunity to divide into parts.
