It has been ten days since children throughout Kosovo are not holding classes because of the teachers' strike.
But a teacher from Prizren has given up strikes for the students' sake. Now nine days, elementary school second-graders “Jevat Berisha” in Prizren are holding regular instruction.
The teacher, who did not want to speak to the cameras, has told Prizren that she supports the strike, but does not want to hurt her students.
The school's principal, Samidin Ramadani, has shown that the teacher in question gave up the strike on the second day and started teaching.
My response has been this way, I've told everyone, who wants to keep teaching, let's continue, conditions all have fulfilled, as on every other day of learning. After that response, it began Tuesday (January 15th) by holding a lesson from”, Ramadani told Tv Prizren.
The general promotion in education came as a disappointment of teachers over the salary co-efficiency, and the SBASK has warned that they will also stage protests unless their demands are met within two weeks of strike.
The SBASK has asked that the wage co-fficiency for education workers increase 30 per cent, meanwhile, the government has offered a 0.20 per cent increase.
As the government has declared no budgetary opportunities for more growth, the SBASK has yet to withdraw from the strike. /Periscopi/
