A man from Georgia who changed his car to deploy antitank missiles and explosives in an attempt to attack the White House was arrested yesterday, authorities reported today.
Hasher Jalal Tayeb (21) was detained in an FBI operation and charged with trying to damage or destroy the US-owned building by opening fire or using explosives, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
The FBI organised the arrest after a local law enforcement agency announced in March that it had received an announcement from an unidentified person who said Tahab had changed his last name and was planning to travel abroad.
As there was no passport, Taeb could not travel, and the FBI's source said he had wanted to carry out an attack on the White House and the Statue of Liberty.
