Petroviq: My party members are being mistreated by BIA,

Independent Liberal Party Chairman [Charge] SLS] in Kosovo, Slobodan Petrovic at a media conference has said members of his party are being mistreated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Agency of Intelligence of Serbia. [ BIA, KTV reports.

Citing its four-hour ban on December 8th and the ban on Deputy Minister Boban Stankovic, who occurred Wednesday, Petrovic has said Serbian institutions are being used for party and political purposes.

What happened last night in Merdare forced us to hold a party meeting. The SLS is being abused by Serbia's MUP and BIA. Initially, my deputy party leader and Deputy Prime Minister Boban Stankoviq stopped me and yesterday. We consider the word for torture, though not physical. But when you keep someone at four or five hours on the border, asking him about things that are known and can be read in the media, it's unprecedented”, Petrovic said.

The “sentence is for misuse of Serbian institutions for party and political purposes. We also remember the threats we experienced during the elections, and then some people on the SLS list were expelled from work”, he added.

Saying they are not afraid of threats, Petrovic has indicated willing to negotiate with Serbian institutions, but has stressed that Serbs in Kosovo are not criminals.

I call on BIA and the prime minister of Serbia's president to explain to all of us why Stankovi and I stopped at the border. It's impossible for them not to know why we were stopped at the” border, Petrovic said.
