Pensioners this month won't get pensions with increases

That's because the draft budget for 2019 has not yet been adopted in second reading.

Lulzim Rafuna, adviser to Finance Minister Bedri Hamza, has told Kosova Preis that pensioners will receive pension pensions with retroactive growth after the 2019 budget approval.

“The contributing opinions, but even these basics are ahead of the budget law for 2019, are pensions which are inflated within the budget law and we will start giving it the moment the budget law is passed 2019. Whether approved in this month or in the next month in whatever time the budget law will be passed for 2019, they will (pensionists) receive retroactively because pensions are envisioned within the budget law 2019”, Rafuna noted.

While, even Labour and Social Management Ministry officials have told Kosovo Preress that there will be no pension increases without the approval of the 2019 budget.

“The Ministry of Labour and Social Management will perform the execution of increased pensions following the approval of the 2019”, the MPMS reported in a written response.

Otherwise, the execution of pensions usually takes place on 23-24 per month, while Kosovo's Assembly has predicted on January 31st to hold the plenary session to vote on the second reading draft budget of 2.3 billion, which it had first voted for on December 21st 2018.

According to still unofficial data, aging pensions -- those who receive 75 euros currently -- with the new budget will receive 90 euros. While contributed pensioners from the amount of 230 euros will receive 34 euros more per month.

The total number of pensioners in the country is about 170 thousand, of which 125 thousand are users of aging pensions, who receive 75 euros a month, while 45 thousand are contributions, divided into four categories, which receive between 158 and 230 euros a month on the basis of schooling preparation. /
