The last hearing in this case was held in November 2017 under the leadership of EULEX judges. Since then, EULEX has completed its mandate in Kosovo, the subject has been transferred to local judges while no session is scheduled yet to be held.
According to the indictment compiled by the Special Prosecutor, Uke Rugova was part of a group whose goal was material benefit, providing EU visa individuals Schengen from the Italian Embassy in Pristina, which were illegally taken or through corruption.
Insander had reported from the beginning of the investigation a series of investigations indicating Rugova's involvement in illegal activities.
According to the indictment, 556 Schengen visas were taken by the Italian Embassy in Pristina in connection with the group's activities.
Together with Uke Rugova in this case, 20 other people are charged, including former Minister Astrit Haraqi.
The accused of this case have been acquitted by denying the prosecution's claims.
