Republic of Albania does not need ministers of Baton Hadzi, Hashim Thaci

It's to support the right decision made by President Ilir Meta today for rejecting Mr. Gent Cakaj as Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania.

We want to clarify the broad public opinion that Cakaj was formally member of Movement V. Before 2011. We don't know the exact date of his leaving the Movement because he hasn't given an explanation to the organization.

On the show of January 3, 2018, in Klan Kosova, director Baton Haxhiu shows how he has known Gent Cakay since the age of 15, and how he has followed his development further. We remember that Haxhiu was an accomplice UDBs front and during the war, subordinates of its leaders, Jovica Stanisic and Zoran Styovovic, and directly involved in the plan to evacuate several MEPs who broke up with the V Movement Last year, after unjustly receiving mandates won in the name of Movement. On Baton Hadzi's plans, it seems that Gent Cakaj served as the front man for the fugitives. In Pristina, it is known that Baton Haxhiu says he has committed Cakay for years with very high pay to do the analysis of polls Haxhiu orders. So Baton Hadziu today threatened President Meta with a reaction because he is concerned about the fate of his multi-year investment.

In the same television show, Gent Cakaj shows his support for the loss of 8,200 hectares that has occurred to Kosovo through the unfair agreement for “Demarcation” with Montenegro. It hits the new and professional Commission, which was founded after strong criticism that the agreement received. Cakaj states: “Personally, I've not been a bit convinced with the work of the new commission, but I don't have to go out in the role of geography overnight and figure out where the border is. As far as I understood the logic of the preliminary commission, it was all consistent with the international formula and commitment.” It does not appear in the role of geography, but emerges in the role of the owner who does not take into account any of the legal, diplomatic, scientific, historical and current arguments presented by the new Commission following the dismissal of Mr. Murat Mesheh.

Kakaj further states: “The question is that normalisation should solve two issues of practical regulation of Kosovo-Serbia reports. Even if recognition is not supposed, Serbia's non-recognition does not manifest itself directly on the ground”. With this position, Cakaj goes against the official position of both the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Kosovo, which requires an agreement that ends with mutual recognition. Cakaj has kept a line at the expense of national interests, and does not hesitate in the interview either to push for the idea of implementing a form of “Zajednica” in Kosovo.

On January 11th 2018, in the second interview of Cakayt in Klan Kosova with Baton Haxhiun, some more dangerous positions are clarified. There he defends with all capacities having Thaci's idea of partitioning Kosovo. It goes as far as dealing with the division of Trepca assets, but also uses expressions like Mitrovica's “Veriu, if it remains in Kosovo ...”. It hints that it is not against breaking up the north and installing a form of “Zajednica” in other parts of the country.

We value some progressive ideas and policies of the Rama Government, such as switching from flat to progressive tax, setting up the reward for newborn children, etc. We also appreciate his declaration of Kosovo's independence at the first meeting in Belgrade with Vuciqi on November 10th 2014, but Gent Cakaj's appointment has been completely inappropriate.
