Citizens in Kosovo often fall prey to fraud on various brands in the country.
Although their prices are placed if in release (action) in reality their price is the same as before.
Consumers often address complaints at Indexline about prices fraud made by market owners.
For this irregularities, officials from the MTI Institute have indicated that ongoing inspections are being conducted on the domestic market.
In a response to the MTI on Indexline, they have suggested that in some cases different markets do not have the same price for exposure on shelves.
“and economic subjects are also obliged to make sure that consumer goods are paid the same price without any change. During the inspections conducted and after consumer complaints the MTI market inspectors have encountered in some cases that the different margins do not have the same price from their exposure to the final payment in the cash box”, they are said to answer.

They have also made it known that not only on the eve of the holidays but also on time and time during inspections observe such fraud.
The market inspection not only on the eve of the end of the year's holidays, but also on time when price discounts are not in line with the consumer protection law, it's worth mentioning the help we have from consumers with identification and information at the market Inspectorate”, it's said among other things in their responses, while stressing that they have taken measures against those who have committed violations of the law and that they have issued fines.
Organisation Chairman “Consumer” Selatine Kacannik for Indexline says some businessmen are playing dishonest games with the consumer protection law.
He points to a case of a child in Gjilan who is lying in hospital because he has been poisoned by expired sweets in the gift bought at one of the markets in Pristina.
Some of the businessmen play dishonest game with the Consumer Protection Law, with the sense and culture of consumer taxpayers who” don't blow up” for a few cents and for a few things?! To illustrate: A child in Gjilan has been lying in the Gjilan hospital because he was poisoned by expired candy in the gift of the new year he bought in Pristina? Not few pack and sell new year's packages with expired items and inflated prices without control. It is seen that children and some other sensitive categories are very classed and untreated by institutions, vulnerable and highly endangered”, Kachanic has said.
He has stressed that low prices are being given over-term products.
“In the case of numerous and exhausting price-reducing campaigns, risking substance / culture / sense of taste for shopping, but also the further existence of some businesses and marketing (dangerous insolvency) is all becoming explosive consumerism. With a few regular prices off “being smuggled aside” and even some false prices, reduced amounts, questionable expiration, insufficient components and licenses... all without control”, he said, among other things.
It should be noted that the number of citizens complaining about whether the quality or prices of products are high. Not rarely are they deceived by the prices, or even found on expired products at stores in Kosovo.
The Bureau for Consumer Protection this year addressed 196 complaints by citizens.
