The Tirana court today has convicted DP leader Lulzim Basha of slander after the Balla indictment.

Lulzim Basha was sentenced to 50,000 leks. The Tirana court today handed down the verdict on Taulant Ball's indictment against the DP's leader, finding him guilty of the “prosecution, for statements made about 3.4m euros seized at Durres Port, the summer of 2018.

In an exit to the media after the trial hearing ended, Lulzim Basha's lawyer in the case Gazmend Bardja said they disagree with this decision and will appeal it.

“Decisions in pressure of the tribunal's property have issued a decision that makes anyone read the verdict laugh.

The court has eliminated and replaced the prosecution's body with the Taulant Face Police, as long as its police say Balla has no responsibility with the millions of drug Euros and no matter what investigation and conclusion the Randa Crime Prosecutor. This is the decision he tried to openly challenge to show the accused person who were the sources of information informing the opposition.

On the other hand, the leader of the Socialist Party's parliamentary group told the media that it is a historic decision.

“Bash is today found guilty and obliged the Albanian state to pay off the sentence the court imposed today. I would ask Basha and PD to give up this slander-based garbage policy. This court ruling will be a moment for the DP to reflect on the inter-institutional relationship, whether with majority, whether with the Assembly or other institutions”, said SP parliamentary group leader Taulant Balla.
