The Council for Protection, Human Rights and Freedoms through a communique for the media has reacted to the SBASK strike.

KMDLNj says it protects the right to unionist organisation and strike as the possibility of achieving goals to improve the conditions of education workers, if all other opportunities are exhausted and can be realised through dialogue with the responsible authorities, in the concrete case with August and the Government of Kosovo.

However, KMDLNj, estimates that all possibilities of dialogue have not been used and that the strike will produce negative effects especially for pre-school children and primary and high school students, as well as for education (ducators) and parents alike.

The SBASK threat that this strike could last for months means that this school year could be lost to students and that it would be great and irreparable damage for students. The demand for strike that could last for months is, in fact, an effort to legalise the condition for achieving goals and as such is unacceptable and harmful”, the KMDLNJ response said.

KMDLNJ stresses that the SBASK and the Government of Kosovo must dialogue to find an acceptable solution for both sides, always given the government's budgetary opportunities as well as the reasonable needs of teachers to improve their material status.

After that there shall be no known term. KMDLNj asks how lost hours will be compensated and KMDLNj will strongly object to compensation of these hours during weekend holidays, holidays or early holidays because according to this organisation, students are not guilty of these losses and responsibility falls on those who contribute to the loss of hours over SBASK respectively.

KMDLNY has added that they have been addressed to parents who send their children to pre-school entities (cate) for payment, demanding that as long as the nests do not provide services for their children, as long as they are released from a nursery payment for the fact that it is unfair to pay for services they are not offered.
