North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned that good will in exchange with Washington could end if the United States continues sanctions to force the jinn regime to give up nuclear weapons.

In his annual speech on the New Year's occasion, the North Korean leader spoke of his established “target “not to produce or test nuclear weapons, as well as of “used or distributed” the arsenal of this country. He added he was ready for another meeting with President Donald Trump this year. But Kim Jong Un added that his country could be forced to follow another path if Washington “does not take corresponding steps”. He called on the United States and South Korea to give up joint military maneuvers.

In June of last year, at their historic meeting Kim Jong Un and President Trump signed an agreement without concrete terms aimed at further negotiations. But the negotiations have stalled after cenyan insists on lifting sanctions in response to the small progress made by the North Korean regime. utter refusal to accept Washington's calls for full nuclear disarmament before sanctions are revised.

North Korea has also demanded that Washington and Seoul issue peace statements to officially halt hostile policies and replace the ceasefire that has existed since the end of the Korean War in 1953. Critics say the peace declaration would make the presence of American troops in South Korea impossible. /voa
