The prosecutors of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates and Saudis are expected to sentence the five people charged with killing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi to death.
Khashoggi, a critic of the Saudi government who lived in the US, was killed after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2nd.
Prosecutors have said he was killed by a group of agents sent to Istanbul to convince him to return to Saudi Arabia.
Riyadh has rejected Turkey's request to extradite 18 suspects to the trial, including 15 suspected agents who have reportedly gone to Istanbul to carry out the murder.
State media reported that the first trial hearing has begun and that all 11 defendants and their lawyers have been present, but did not provide any more information. /Periscopi/
