ISIS assumes responsibility for attacks in the Philippines and Nigeria

This group has launched a statement on January 27th saying that two suicide attackers have blown themselves up as religious services were held at a cathedral in Yolo, the area controlled by IS militants in the Philippines, though this area is predominantly Catholic.
At least 20 people have been killed and more than 80 others have been injured in the explosion.
One explosion occurred during church services until the other in a car space.
Regional police director Graciano Mijares has said 14 civilians and six security members were killed in the attack.
Jolo Island has been the target of attacks by militants in the group, Abu Sayaf, who has been declared a terrorist organization by the United States and the Philippines.
Meanwhile, IS militants have said to have killed 30 Nigerian soldiers in an attack that took place on January 26th in the village of Logoman.
However, a spokesman for the Nigeria Army has said the attack on the troops of this state has been prevented and only eight soldiers wounded.
The extremist group, the Islamic State in West Africa, which has been divided by the Islamist group Boko Haram in 2016, has been blamed for dozens of attacks that have occurred in recent months in northern Nigeria.
