European Integration Minister Gifts Hoxha has said there are many circumstances that have left Kosovo last in the European integration process by the countries of the region. According to her, historical and geopolitical aspects have influenced her. First, she says, are aspects of statehood and new state institutions.
Hoxha at the “Week Interview” in Koha.net has said that although Kosovo failed to obtain liberalisation during 2018, as promised, the lobby will continue.
“Yes, we will lobby, we will not stop because the integration process does not end with liberalisation, our institutions are full integration into Euro-Atlantic values. This will take time anyway, but we will not stop”, she said.
Germany, in principle, has been declared for visa liberalisation. But, Hoxha says he has also seen a belief in meetings he has held in France.
Hoxha, this time he has not mentioned any deadlines about liberalisation. He has said that the deadlines are in the hands of the EU Commission's member states for internal affairs, which draft the agenda, previously harmonised as the issue that takes the majority, which also approves when put on the agenda.
The priorities of this ministry, Hoxha, say they remain last year, until full integration within the EU, implementation of the SAA and judicial, economic and institutional reforms. As for the upcoming Summit of High-level Dialogue, Kosovo EU, which Hoxha had warned, she said are waiting for the answer from the EU instance.
