EU like US: remove tax quickly, engage in dialogue

The European Union is now putting pressure on the government “The Haradinaj” for the removal of a 100% tax on Serbian goods, in order to continue dialogue with Serbia. EU spokeswoman Maja Kocijanciq, in a response to the newspaper “Voice” has said Brussels expects to lift taxes and both countries engage in continuing dialogue.

For more than two months, since the Kosovo government made a decision to impose a 100 per cent tax on Serbian products, the European Union (BE) is not stopping putting pressure on Kosovo to remove this fee. But the same thing the EU is not practicing even with Serbia, which is not going on to wage diplomatic war on the state of Kosovo.

European Union spokeswoman Maja Kocijanciq has told “Zen” that the EU's position on the tax remains the same one that has been, against the determined measure towards Serbian and Bosnian products. According to her, the EU expects Serbia and Kosovo to engage in the process of dialogue in order to move towards the full normalisation of relations between the two countries.

But Kocijancic has not responded to the question posed by the paper, if pressure is being put on the Serbian state, when it is considered that Serbia is currently on the offensive to attracting recognition to Kosovo and obstructing Kosovo's membership in international organisations. Meanwhile, the negotiation process with Serbia is continuing to be suspended, as Serbia has already indicated that it will not participate in dialogue until the tariff is removed.

But the Kosovo government, not even after pressure coming from the internationals, is not backing back from the decision taken on November 21st 2018 for putting the tax in question.
