About 100 Albanian asylum seekers in EU countries, from Germany and France, have recently been repatriated to Albania after refusing asylum applications in EU countries where they had applied.
Deputy Interior Minister Rowena Voda has made an appeal for Albanian citizens not to apply for illegal asylum, as chances of profiting are zero. It has clarified that the right to migrate belongs to every citizen, but only through normal legal procedures, accepted by all democratic countries.
In a proposal to the Voda media underlined the fact that EU countries have begun applying stricter legal provisions to Albanian asylum seekers, especially Germany and France.
Two shares were carried out to the repatriation of Albanian citizens asylum seekers from the two EU countries, France and Germany. It's the first repatriation operations in 2019. In total are about 100 Albanian citizens who have sought asylum in these EU countries, but of course their demands have been rejected and today they have been repatriated to the territory of the Republic of Albania.
As deputy interior minister, I think I have a duty to appeal to all Albanian citizens not to apply and travel or migrate to EU countries, with the sole goal of seeking asylum.
They have to understand once again because asylum demand is a requirement that cannot be accepted by EU countries, because Albania is on the list of secure countries, so it means it is a state with all standards, for a normal life, a democratic state, with a democratic government and Albanian citizens have zero chances of accepting asylum requirements.” said Rowna Voda.
As for EU legislation, Voda has underlined the fact that EU countries have begun to apply stricter legal provisions to Albanian asylum seekers, especially Germany and France.
“I also want to let all Albanian citizens know about EU countries' legislation, which perhaps until recently has been a little “buyar” regarding the demands of Albanians for asylum, this legislation has already changed in Germany, even changing again. The legislation has been toughened and timed to process asylum demands of Albanian citizens has been reduced. The same will happen to France. Starting in January 2019, the amended French legislation has passed on to the French Parliament, very soon comes into force and that legislation will be toughened.
The criteria will be much stricter, the timing of the application for asylum will be much shorter, and Albanian citizens, who unjustly applied for asylum in France, will be returned, repatriated to the territory of the Republic of Albania.
I call on Albanian citizens, all those who want to move, of course, is their right, who want to migrate outside Albania's borders, to choose the path of safe and regular migration”, she said.
