Co-directors of the Kosovo state delegation, Fatmir Limaj and Shpend Ahmeti, accompanied by other members of the team, have presented in Brussels today ahead of senior EU representative Federica Moghrini, the state delegation, resolution and the law for dialogue.
According to them, the EU has expressed the stance that it does not support ethnically clean states in the region.
Ahmeti has said that Kosovo's willingness to dialogue should not be easily misunderstood to discuss things that are not worth discussing.
First The PSD has also recalled Serbia's fight against Kosovo in the international arena.
We also made clear that the state delegation is not in favor of someone or anyone else in support of the delegation. We have a mandate from the Parliament and as such we will represent the Republic of Kosovo and report to the Assembly. We will also be closely co-ordinated with all other actors, the question of the inevitable tax arose, and we consider that trade should be part of this dialogue, so we cannot only make the decision to write down taxes, even though it is not the decision of the state delegation, but the Government. But we said we would send the messages to Government”, Ahmeti said.
Limaj, on the other hand, said the dialogue epilogue should be known. He has announced that they have called for additional commitment to visa liberalisation.
We said that, too, the reasons for the tax should be removed. They should rest all the reasons why we've raised the tax. There are many conditions Serbia must meet to withdraw the tax, this is not unilateral. Look, we are in such conditions, we who 10 more years live with Serbia, and nobody is tired of that job. There are hundreds of issues that Serbia does not respect, documentation, different obsessions, we are not talking about this aggressive policy of opposing Kosovo's membership in other institutions, despite the promise it has given. With a comprehensive agreement that will follow the need for tax”, Limaj said.
He said that a spirit of dialogue should be created, and that they have gone to create normal relations and reciprocity.
Ahmeti filed another request.
Besides finding out, we're going to have working groups not only for him, but also for war crimes, reparations, all of these topics that we think we have a right to lift. I say again, it's clear to the EU that the tax doesn't go dry, so it's pretty clear. What was mentioned at the meeting is also a request for Serbia to be made to stop the recognition withdrawal campaign they are doing in several third-world states called English-language”, Ahmeti said.
According to Ahmeti, the tax is Kosovo's only tool in foreign policy, underlining agreements that have not been met by the Serb side.
Asked about the correction of borders, the first of the Initiative has recalled the mandate received by the Parliament.
“We made it clear today, we are here on constitutional mandate and the Kosovo parliament, the state delegation is on constitutional mandate and parliament and the mandate Kosovo parliament has given it, and we will also discuss and come to the dialogue to find solutions”, Limaj said February.
It was Ahmeti who intervened, saying Limaj was not talking about partitioning Kosovo.
The EU's “position, I quote, is; An agreement which is acceptable to both sides is acceptable to the EU, if it is in line with European values... It may be meant in some ways, I may be wanting to understand it the way I'm thinking. But he also said that the EU does not support ethnically clean states”, Ahmeti added.
In the end, Limaj has commented on the rumours of who made the decision to impose a 100% tax on Serbia. He said the decisions are state and not individual, whereas the logic of the race sends them nowhere.
Attending this meeting with European officials were also; Blerim Shala, Avni Arifi, Behgjet Pacolli, Enver Hoxhaj, Mahir Jagcilar, Dardan Gashi, Visar Ymer, Dukagjin Gorani, she Kosovo Ambassador to Belgium Bernard Nikaj.
