Council of Students Against Strike, Seeks Not to Stop Teaching

The Council of Students of Kosovo, through a reaction sent to the media, has suggested they do not support the strike organised by the United Education, Science and Culture Union of SBASK.

This Council, which is the representative structure of all high school students in Kosovo, in co-operation with the Kosovar Youth Council- This organization under which the umbrella functions considers that the frustrations of teachers such as raising salaries, no matter how legitimate, would have to be addressed through other methods that would not prevent education, from which fact, the Council says, students suffer the most.

Even though well thought out, the practice shows that replacing classes in most cases does not have the same effect as regular learning process, extra hours are often neglected, says the KNK.

The council further says it considers legislation in force, specifically, DEGY No. 03/L-20 P THREE, Article 9, Point 2 says “The Greeks cannot be declared before they have been exhausted/used earlier by reconciliation and mediation procedures, under the Law on Intermediation, and provided these procedures are appropriate, impartial, fast, and that the parties have access to participation at any stage” met with the NR's Law. 04/ L-119 THE BIBLE'S VIEWPOINT LIGION PLOTHER NR. 03/L,200 P THREE, Article 5.

Therefore, KNK, trusting in the law of teachers for strike, recommends that the same be exhausted first any other channel before harming and the rights of students for education.

The Council invites competent institutions, particularly the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Labour and Social Goods, as well as the United Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture, to co-operate in an efficient and adequate solution for all. /Periscopi
