The U.S. Congress never looked like this.

People selected from the 116th American Congress race break up barriers like never before in history. Emiacs, young, Muslim women are just a few who vowed this year to the American Congress, opening new chapters and fuelling hope for society throughout, CNN reports. Ilhan [...]
Emiacs, young, Muslim women are just a few who vowed this year to the American Congress, opening new chapters and fuelling hope for society throughout, CNN reports.
Ilhan Omar, the Democrat of Minnesota and the first member of the Somali-American Congress, noted the history of her choice on Twitter.
“23 years ago, from a refugee camp in Kenya, my father and I arrived at an airport in Washington, DC”, she wrote, along with a picture of her and her father laughing at the suitcase. “Today, we return to the same airport on the eve of my oath as the first Somali-American in Congress”
Omar is just one of dozens of stories that began a new chapter Thursday.
There were record numbers of sworn women. Muslim women are serving for the first time, including Omar and Rashid Tlaib of Michigan such as Indian American women, including Sharice Davids and Deb Haaland. Texas sent Congress the first two Latin members, while two conventioners of colored people from New England also made history coming to Washington. The first historical comes from both sides, and at least one member -- Alexandria Ocasio Cortez of New York -- is younger than 30 years old.

The party's division into the new House of Representatives is 235 Democrats and 199 republics. In the Senate, there are currently 53 republics and 47 Democrats -- a total involving two independents who make up the MP group with the Democrats.
The record number of women selected in Congress was the key to the Democrats who recovered most into the House of Representatives. Although the Republicans, on the other hand, lost female representation.

Congress itself is changing to meet new members coming to Capitol Hill. The new class also includes more women with young children, and members of the female Congress have recently been even more vocal in forcing the US legislature branch to capture the needs of members dealing with child care and official duties. The NPR announced on Tuesday that the new Congress opened a new centre for child care exclusively for the House of Representatives employees.
Last month, Congress adopted legislation to improve the way Capitol Hill deals with sexual harassment.
