Public educational institutions and part of the medical staff in Kosovo are already in the second week of strike with the demand for salary increases.
The teachers' strike during yesterday has also been attached to the University of Pristina, until all health inspectors have entered the strikes. Meanwhile, civil servants in Government have warned that they will go on strike unless they have salary increases, writes the newspaper “Zeri”.
So neither has Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's decision, the decision to allocate 20m euros for wage increases in the education sector, convinced them to give up strikes. Under this decision, teachers in high school will be separated from 74.8 euros more per month for teachers in education from 46.8 euros more, for teachers in pre-school education from 49.8 euros and also for teachers in special schools from 49.8 euros more a month.
However, the head of the United Education Union in Kosovo (SBASHK) has rejected Prime Minister Haradinaj's offer of this salary increase.
