Pristina's first, Shpend Ahmeti, had promised that 2018 would be the year of purity for the capital.
For citizens last year it wasn't like that. Some do not expect this year to be cleaner either.
There are those who blame the municipality, while some agree that the main culprits are citizens themselves, reports “038” KTV.
The municipality says that both in urban and rural areas, the company “Cleaning” respects regular timelines for garbage collection.
But according to public service sector leader Habib Qorri, large loads of households and businesses make some container points more loaded with garbage.
He says that even this year they have planned a budget for infrastructure regulation, the appointment of waste drop points and the necessary number of containers.
When we offer these opportunities, it remains to citizens and businesses or to all those who waste, to respect waste disposal procedures from their environments and to be thrown into the designated places where it is allowed and managed over and over again. Not in public spaces, not near baskets. Imit waste baskets are used for various wastes as well as sacks, even in constructions that make renovations of dwellings or houses, and they are thrown near these baskets. These create the image that is not the municipality conducting, but the municipality is conducting that they are constantly leaving”, says Habib Qorri, leader of the Pristina Public Services sector, the municipality.
Citizens' awareness of waste disposal will be tried to become another form.
Also this year we have planned a self-aware campaign to get closer to citizens and to be in touch with children, residents, to increase awareness of where waste will be dropped and how to make it split”.
Regimental company “Cleaning” requires citizens' help to keep the capital clean.
A major action on the removal of illegal waste depots in the capital is being warned to start in the spring. Kelmendi claims they will do it differently than others.
The waste piles up at 508 Pristina points, without including door-to-door service.
On average, the company “Cleaning” in 24 hours removes 231m kg of waste from Pristina.
