The quake occurred about 10 and 32 minutes local time. The origin of the quake was 53 miles [53 km] deep in the earth. People are afraid the earthquake will be followed by a potential tsunami, but the tsunami centre in the Pacific Ocean has announced that there is no danger of such a disaster.
