The number of clients of the banking system is increasing annually, as the number of ATMs is dropping.
Of the 512 ATMs at the beginning of 2018 across the country, their number has dropped to 470, reports KTV.
While over 60 percent of the transactions citizens do are about attracting money from the account.
According to the chairman of the Association of Banks of Kosovo, Petrit Baliu, this is being done in order to avoid withdrawing money from the ATM and carrying out payments at the mall.
To carry out the payment by credit points, most banks have fees.
However, only one bank may eventually attract money to the market, but the same can only be done if a product is initially worth it.
The bank system's acquaintance, Naim Gashi, estimates that banks in the country are moving faster than the life system.
However, the Central Bank of Kosovo under legislation in effect has no right to determine the number of ATMs in proportion to the number of consumers.
Bank Supervisor Department Director Mentor Geci has said they have no right to prevent closure, as the market is open.
The bank accounts are over 1 million, of them about 300 thousand current accounts.
