During the time the salary issue was discussed and when this bill was in public discussion, SINKON has given his remarks in the bill.

As a result, Article 27 of the bill provided special treatment for air traffic controllers because of the importance this profession has in functioning the state of Kosovo. Lately, we learned that this article was completely out of law. Air traffic control has been taken as a function by KFOR in 2004, and since that year, Kosovo air traffic controllers have been responsible for co-operation with NATO/ KFOR also for preserving Kosovo airspace. In 2010, the Government of Kosovo through the Public-Private Partnership Agreement has been tasked with the Limak-Aeroport de Lyon concession that will provide air navigation services, otherwise bound to compensate for the damage caused”, becomes known in the statement.

Further in the statement, it becomes known that currently, in Kosovo there are only 22 air traffic controllers from 32 in advance. According to SINKON, their position remains unclear by this law.

Our “10 colleagues (over 30% of staff) are currently continuing their career outside Kosovo, evidence that these professionals are unhappy with current salaries. With this law, the position of air traffic controllers remains unclear. If the current salaries of air traffic controllers are lowered as a result of the law, then this will have unpleasant consequences for our country. Our concern has been followed to IFATCA and ATCEUC! With this law, Kosovo risks losing the last 22 air traffic controllers (who have invested in the security and quality of air traffic in the Republic of Kosovo) it has. We invite Kosovo institutions to be reasonable and “NO ♪ COSOVA AIR WITH THE WORLD!”, known at the conclusion of the statement.

Recently in Kosovo, workers of various public sectors are on strike due to precisely the golden cofficient in certain categories and low in other categories. Education has entered the third week of the strike, where they are seeking increased cofficiency. For similar reasons, the strike has been held by surgeons.
