Kosovo started in 2019 without the budget approved by the Assembly. Kosovo Assembly officials claim that once the winter holiday is over, on January 21st, the Assembly of the Parliament's Headship will be held in which the date is expected to be set for approval of the 2019 budget bill.
Kosovo Assembly Secretary General Ismet Krasniqi told Radio Free Europe that the Parliament's Headship is the body that decides on the date when the Bill on the 2019 budget will be considered in the second reading.
We expect the Kosovo Parliament's Headship Assembly to be held on January 21st, where pending issues will be discussed. It cannot prejudge, but the priorities of the first session are assigned to Headship”, Krasniqi said.
Kosovo's 2019 budget, according to the current design, is expected to reach 2.3 billion euros.
On 21 December last year, the Kosovo Assembly has voted in principle this bill.
And members of the Commission for Board and Finance in the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament hope that at one of the first sessions this month, the Budget Bill will be presented for second reading in the Parliament and final approval.
