Zaev's visit to Washington and meeting with Deputy Chairman Pence follows US Defence Secretary James Mattis's visits and Assistant Secretary of State Wes Mitchel in Macedonia and expressed support for the upcoming referendum and the country's integration into NATO and the EU.
Earlier this month, even US President Donald Trump, in letter to Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, voiced support for the agreement with Greece, praising it as historic and an opportunity to open Macedonia's road directly. NATO and the EU.
