Vuciq: We must rid ourselves of 200-year-old hatred between Serbs and Albanians

However, the Serbian president has not provided details concerning the debates on correction and exchange of territories with Kosovo.

Vuciq said it's very difficult to reach a solution, but it's very important that it remains written about what we could have and that everything he's done will be written in history.

Everybody ask me about the boundaries, but I'm asking you, what border are you talking about? We say Kosovo is Serbia, while they say Kosovo is independent. In this situation each sets his own limit. But do we need that? We are of this country and we must jointly decide on a border and thus permanently remove the 200-year-old hatred between a Serb and an Albanian. We live here and we have to deal with how we want to live and not someone else to satisfy our wishes”, Vuchic has expressed itself.

He and Macedonia's prime minister, Zoran Zaev, at the border crossing between the two countries, in Tabanoc near Kumanovo inaugurated a joint customs point.

Project “One Stop Shop” envisions that vehicles with goods and other transport vehicles are subject only to one customs point, thus facilitating control procedures.

Macedonia's Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said he supports whatever solutions the two countries will achieve and that it will be in the direction of ensuring peace and stability not only in Kosovo and Serbia, but even wider in the region.

“Macedonia supports positive solutions for Kosovo, which would advance the lives of Serbs, Albanians and all citizens in Kosovo, which will guarantee peace, stability and security in Kosovo, Serbia and the entire region. It is of particular importance that all the leaders of the region be united for common purposes, that means permanent peace, regional co-operation, economic development and membership in the European Union”, Zaev has declared.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vucic, have recently unveiled the idea for restructuring the borders.

Vuciq's Thaci will meet on 7 September in Brussels, under the dialogue between the two states mediated by the European Union's High Representative, Federica Moghrini.
