The decision-making process for visa liberalisation for Kosovo has already entered a dynamic phase. On Monday, this process has been passed to “sed” of the Working Group for Visas (COWEB), which operates within the European Union Council.
This group is expected on September 25th and 26th to visit Kosovo to see closely the work Kosovo has done in rule of law and other issues related to visa liberalisation.
After this phase, the issue of visa liberalisation for Kosovo is expected to be moved to the second instance, called COREPER (Eternal Ambassadors to the EU Council).
Shortly after this phase, the visa issue will pass for a vote to the Council of Ministers of EU member states.
Representatives of Kosovo institutions say optimistic that this year Kosovo will be removed the Schengen area visa regime, as all requirements from the European Union have been met.
On the other hand, the connoisseur of European integrations say Kosovo citizens will move visa-free to May of next year. /Zeri/
