Even veterans oppose Thaci's idea of border correction

The government that has been a KLA fighter itself, says their oath as a soldier has been uniting Albanian lands, but that hasn't happened. And now he is skeptical that the Serbian state would accept that Kosovo would donate the Presevo Valley through border correction.

“We have conveyed recent events, and the president's statements to us have been unclear because there have been numerous reactions on his part. I think that the idea of exchange of territories is very dangerous, especially for Kosovo, because we are all witnesses, we know that from these talks until now that they have been held with Serbia, we have gained nothing. So it's a dangerous idea, we've been recognised by many countries with this territory, so any initiative in this direction is very dangerous for citizens and the future of Kosovo”, he said.

The government in an interview for KosovoPress has said that as warriors, it is dangerous to discuss Kosovo's borders with Serbia, and therefore he says they do not support the idea of President Thaci discussing Kosovo's borders with the Serbian state.

Despite what he says would be very happy if Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac joined Kosovo, he expresses sceptical that this could happen.

There was war in Presevo, there was an agreement that was never implemented. There was an agreement and no implementation. There's been a war, and today we take Presevo, I don't have any faith, I'd be very happy to get the Presevo and the rest of the land. But in that form I don't believe at all”, he said.

The government has also talked about veterans' lists and the resignation of state prosecutor Elez Blakaj, who has dealt with the subject.

He made it known that he himself was a witness, and he had faith that this process will reach its end.

He also pointed out that prosecutor Blakaj has given support and promised to co-operate with him until the end of the whole process.

“I've had a co-operation or good communication with the prosecutors' investigators and I've seen their will in this direction. I have hoped in their part that the state prosecution is finally taking seriously the investigation of these cases, because a lot of the KLA war has been misused, it has benefited people without a point of merit, and today it also burdens the Kosovo budget, it also harms the morals of KLA fighters. So we've been cooperating with them, when we heard that prosecutor Blakaj resigned for us, that the reasoning he's been giving is for us and for every concerned citizen”, Qreric said.

According to Creics, the large number of veterans who illegally gained status have greatly damaged the image of the true warrior.

The warrior's “maze has seriously damaged, especially the government commission after it has released this number, has been badly damaged. We have hoped in the state prosecutor, but, after these statements by prosecutor Blakaj and his resignation, we have lost confidence in this institution that it will clear up a truth and clear these list”, he said.
