Unprecedented earlier: 907 witnesses in the indictment against Milaim Zeka

Milaim Zeka's judgment could be one of the longest judgments ever held in Kosovo. Not because of the complexity of the case, but because of the great number of witnesses.

Special Attorney Africa Shefakiu has proposed 907 witnesses against Zeka. 900 of them are victims of labour visa fraud in Germany, which have received no less than 345 thousand and 700 euros.

354 people have returned money after the launch of investigations against Social Democrat Initiative MP Milaim Zeka and his partner, Ilir Krasniqi. The amount of money returned amounts to 830,000 euros. 546 people haven't gotten their money back yet.

Insander has secured the Special Prosecution Act against Milaim Zeka, Ilir Krasniqi and Edmond Krliu, who are accused of fraud, money laundering and tax evasion. The names of all victims of fraud, proposed as witnesses, are listed in the indictment.

Through material evidence and witnesses, the prosecution is claiming to send Zeka to prison for a long time.

Insander has learned that the first hearing against the accused has already been scheduled at the Pristina Foundation Court. They will be brought to justice on 2 October of this year.

The first point of the indictment charges Milaim Zeka and Ilir Krasniqi with criminal fraud. It says that from the beginning of 2016, until March 2017, with the aim of illegal wealth gain, Zeka and Krasniqi have opened up business under the name “Ir Krasniqi & Milaim Zeka OP” as a employment agency, and have presented false facts as the participation of Kosovo citizens in Germany.

They, as reported in the indictment via the “Pa Rrotla” broadcast in RTK, have lured Kosovars to apply for working visas at their offices in Pristina's “Pyton” neighbourhood.

Krasniqi's Zeka is accused of cheating 90 Kosovars by taking them from 500 to 3,000 euros. The total value of this fraud amounts to 345 thousand euros.

For the business of visa fraud, deputy of the initiative led by Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj, Milaim Zeka and his partner, Ilir Krasniqi, are also accused of tax evasion.

Thus, they are accused of stealing the state by failing to pay the taxes, worth 59 thousand and 981 euros and 85 cents.

With a special money laundering point, Milaim Zeka and businessman from Macedonia Edmond Krliu are charged.

Curliu, accused of clearing Milaim Zeka's 153 thousand and 901 euros, which is suspected of taking advantage of the 900 Kosovars visa fraud.

“Over the period from July 1, 2016, until December 31st 2016 in Pristina, originally defendant Milaim Zeka aimed at hiding and avoiding his business tax, N.S. Kosovo's Media Centre has transferred suspiciously from its bank account to the company account The defendant's property, Edmund Krliu”, is said to be in indictment.

It mentions 11 bank transactions totaling 153 thousand and 901 euros on behalf of the purchase of three residences. All this money has been returned to Krliu Zeka in the name of borrowing.

The residences reportedly purchased by Zeka, which are located in the banesor-afarist complex, “Nertel Center”, have been seized by the Court by the end of the trial. If the accused are found guilty, then the state will become the owner of these three residences.

MP Milaim Zeka is also accused of deliberately avoiding obligations to the state through the media company “He is charged that, based on the findings of the Tax Administration, 81 thousand and 192 euros and 72 cents have been avoided by the state.

With a particular drop of money laundering charges, Ilir Krasniqi is also charged. He is accused of laundering 57 thousand euros through the guise of buying a business club and a car.

Krasniqi, charged on November 18th 2016, from his bank account has transferred 46 thousand euros to the Arsim Retkocer bank account on behalf of buying a bar in Matican on the surface of 86.7 square metres.

On material evidence provided by witness investigations and testimony, the state is expected next month to bring Milaim Zekana to justice to answer for the crimes he allegedly committed, both stopping 900 Kosovars by deceiving both them and the state by money laundering and failing to pay mandatory taxes.

Last year Insander discovered the fraud of Milaim Zeka, publishing a series of scriptures on the event. A few days later he was arrested and held under house arrest. The investigation proved how, Zeka, who was crying at television studios and compassionate people in Kosovo, and accused everyone who was facing corruption, was involved in a large relationship of fraud and illegal profit.
