Heraclion University of Crete was involved in a major fire. Great smoke storms that resemble the eruption of a volcano covered the area.
Authorities evacuated the students, while the security alert was given Sunday morning.
The fire reportedly began at campus, forcing students to flee their rooms after the building was filled with smoke. Fortunately, there were no wounded persons.
About 40 fire fighters and helicopters were engaged to extinguish the fires to pour water over the building.
The fire went out around 1700 in the afternoon.
