In an exclusive interview for Kosovo's life show, Serwer was asked if by the coming of President Donald Trump, the American approach to Kosovo has changed.
He confirmed that within this administration even persons with ideas for partitioning Kosovo are being heard.
“This is a new administration with very little experience in the Balkans and it is an ethnically nationalist administration, and when Daciqi has come to Washington to push this idea, this administration was willing to listen to it because this idea contains ethnically nationalist principles in itself. This administration includes people like John Bolton who were opposed to Kosovo's independence and there is no better way to destroy Clinton's legacy than to have ears for people who want to divide Kosovo”, he said.
Analyst who had also been adviser to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci spoke about the latest discour of the two presidents for restructuring the borders.
I don't personally believe this, but Hashim Thaci talked to American officials more than I do and I don't know what they promised him. But I would be very skeptical. One thing we need to understand is that partitioning Kosovo from the perspective of five EU nations that have not recognised Kosovo and from China's point of view is worse than Kosovo's admission to the UN without becoming the partition of Kosovo”, he said.
Albanian, Serbian and international views on the idea of exchanging territories between Kosovo and Serbia appeared on this show.
At a table concerning the idea of exchanging territories, leaders of parties in office and opposition discussed.
Also, in an exclusive interview, Serbian analyst Dragomir Andjelovic commented on the issue.
