Thaci tells why he spoke today with a face-to-face, but only through Mogher

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has denied that because of the failure to hold a meeting with Aleksandar Vuciq in Brussels, it has been Vuciqi's ban to visit Wejman. He has said the cause have been the major differences the parties have in the dialogue. So, Thaci said, they decided today to communicate through the EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini.

“I'm not about to be given, I officially refuse division, exchange of territories, claim of any crime in Republika Srpska, I need to close the 430km demarcation with Serbia what Serbia wants I don't pretend to know but don't care, I'm about to announce what Kosovo wants. Don't ask me to declare what Serbia wants because Serbia talks about itself we talk about ourselves”, Thaci has said, Periscopi reports.

According to Thaci, Kosovo in dialogue is already unique, and the opposition's movements only see them as a gap in access to dialogue.

“Kosovo is unique for dialogue, there is a difference in the approach to negotiations, but all are to recognise the borders as the prerequisite for mutual recognition”, he has said.

She says she doesn't know what the date of the upcoming meeting in Brussels is, but adds that Kosovo is ready to go whenever it is invited by Moghrin.

I cannot give days and dates but I appreciate the position the EU has taken, so at the most appropriate time appointed by Mrs. Moghrin. Kosovo will fulfil its obligations and is willing to move forward we have negotiated through Mrs. Moghrini and because of deep differences we have seen fit to negotiate through Moggerin”, he said, Periscopi writes.

Thaci denies that the issue of Vuciq's visit to Lake Weman was due to the failure of today's meeting.

“answered earlier and was not at all related to this matter. The letter of the visit is much earlier defined, Vuciq is free to speak with the Serb people in Kosovo, we do not want to humiliate anyone, we will work for multiethnic European Kosovo. To say the right as president does not deal with technical issues, and I cannot comment on such things but respect the decisions of Kosovo institutions”, he has said.

In the end, Thaci said that Brussels will return with a message to the opposition in Kosovo, to achieve unity in dialogue, so that agreement can be reached with Serbia and our Euro-Atlantic values are empowered.

“I invite for dialogue on common understanding and approach to dialogue with Serbia. We all know that without an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, there is no European future. I will return to Kosovo with the message that Kosovo must achieve unity for dialogue, strengthen our Euro-Atlantic values. For the big steps ahead of us for our European future”, he has said./Periscopi/
