With this findings, Hoxhaj is listed alongside Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, whose government today has prosecuted the draft law on transforming the KSF into the military, for voting in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
“Days extremely important for Kosovo, the prosecution of three bills adopted in the government to transform the Kosovo Security Force into Armed Forces. The position of the Democratic Party of Kosovo has always been clear, and continues to be so. Kosovo is sovereign and will have its own army. The Serbian List and Belgrade cannot block this process indefinitely. All political parties in Kosovo must support this law, which brings a new chapter that makes Kosovo armed with Armed Forces”, has written Hoxhaj on his Facebook profile, illustrating this post with his photo of American Defence Secretary James Mattis.
Meanwhile, against that decision has come the country's president, Hashim Thaci, who has said such a major thing in itself sends it into isolation in the country.
The circumstances are now different. We've started a while now, after my initiative, along with the international community a process of awareness and have reached a very important phase of co-ordination. Because, when the Kosovo Armed Forces are established, they should be welcome, an open process, sure of the Partnership for Peace and NATO, and not any head action, which seriously hurts the multiethnic mission of the Kosovo Armed Forces. Thus, one unilateral action leads to isolation. A co-ordinated action paves the way for safe development, strengthening, moving towards the partnership for peace and then even NATO”, Thaci has said.
